About Us

President

2021-2022 President of the Kentucky Association of County Agricultural Agents, Kevin Lyons serves as the Agriculture & Natural Resource County Extension Agent in Monroe County. He has served his home county for a total of 16 years.

Kevin grew up on a family dairy farm. He earned both his B.S. and M.S in Agriculture from Western Kentucky University. His farming operation consists of beef cattle, strawberries, and honeybees.

Kevin has previously served as KACAA Farm Organizations Director, and currently serves as the Monroe Co. Farm Bureau president-elect.

Past President

2020-2021 President of the Kentucky Association of County Agricultural Agents, Ms. Courtney Jenkins serves as the Agriculture & Natural Resource County Extension Agent in Magoffin County, with University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension. Courtney has served as a county extension agent for 11 years. Prior to transferring to Magoffin County in 2014, Courtney worked as a dual agent in Menifee County, performing the duties of ANR Agent and 4-H Youth Development Agent.

Courtney earned both her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky, as she is passionate about strengthening the abilities of individuals, groups, and organizations in her community to reach goals and overcome challenges. In addition to her passion for community and leadership development, Courtney has a deeply-rooted love of all things agriculture. She grew up on a tobacco farm in Morgan County where she, her husband, and two young daughters still reside and now operate a farm of their own.

Courtney is thankful for a career with the Cooperative Extension Service that allows her to incorporate her love of agriculture and community and leadership development into her daily activities. Courtney’s major programming efforts include beef production, forages, forestry, and horticulture—the leading sources of ag-related income in East KY. She also enjoys working with the Magoffin County Farmers’ Market and a variety of community organizations on local community and economic development ventures.
