The purpose of the Kentucky Association of County Agricultural Agents is to:
- provide mutual helpfulness among its members
- promote professional improvement
- advance the development of agriculture, especially in the state of Kentucky
Any full-time Cooperative Extension Agent or Extension Associate employed in Kentucky may become a regular member of KACAA by payment of the annual membership dues. Any other Cooperative Extension employee in Kentucky may become an associate member by payment of annual associate dues. See the by-laws & policies for dues information.
KACAA Country Kitchen
KACAA Country Kitchen is for all KACAA members
KACAA Country Kitchen is an annual event that brings our county agriculture and horticulture agents together in an effort to thank our legislators for the work they do for agriculture and our communities.
The annual event is typically hosted in March of each year in Frankfort, where representatives and senators, along with legislative staff are treated to a showcase of Kentucky Proud products from the amazing farmers and agribusinesses that county extension agents work alongside 365 days a year. Collaborating with their local farmers and other KY Proud food providers, we showcase the diversity and tastiness of those KY Proud Products that are the result of the tedious labor and marketing of the Kentucky Farmer.
The relationship between the County Agent, the farmer, and the legislators is open for communication. A great value of the leadership and direction that Extension instills all across the Commonwealth.
The event is a true example of the collaborative nature of county extension agents. We convene for one day from all across the state, each bringing contributions from our counties and region, but more importantly our attitudes of what can be accomplished with teamwork.
This is a great event for experienced and new agents alike to spend a day in Frankfort and have a working lunch with their representatives.
